EcoLogicStudio unveils its first biophilic design collection. Products include a desktop air purifier, a compostable stool, and 3D-printed jewellery made from recycled waste. The Photo.Synth.Etica collection includes the AIReactor – a desktop biotech air purifier, a compostable stool and a biodigital ring – a 3D printed jewel made from re-metabolised pollution. Each piece is a fusion of biophilic and digital design, with true circularity in production and use. The compostable stool and jewellery are 3D printed using biomass from the air purification process.

PhotoSynthetica collection is the result of five years of research and incorporates insights from several recent projects including BioBombola, Otrivin Air Lab, Air Office and Tree One. The collection is part of a wider PhotoSynthetica™ research project, launched in 2018, to address the impact of climate change and air pollution on urban wellbeing.

‘This collection is born from the dream of growing the city of the future from the waste and pollution of our current fossil civilisation: more than products, these first three objects are tools to start a collective process of urban re-metabolisation’ – says Dr Marco Poletto.

The collection will be presented at Milan Design Week.
