The 16th edition of A Shaded View on Fashion Film (ASVOFF) is set to take place from November 7th-10th, 2024, at Dover Street Market in Paris, drawing audiences to celebrate the intersection of fashion, style, and cinema. Since its founding in 2008 by fashion icon Diane Pernet, ASVOFF has pioneered the fashion film genre, encouraging creative talents to explore fashion’s storytelling potential on screen. This groundbreaking festival tours prestigious locations worldwide, such as the Guggenheim and Centre Pompidou, establishing itself as a significant cultural event.
This year, ASVOFF is chaired by Michèle Lamy, and attendees can expect a vibrant array of screenings, exhibitions, and performances. The program includes Sadie Frost’s Quant, a documentary tribute to Mary Quant, the fashion visionary behind Britain’s mod movement, and Michael Selditch’s Happy Clothes, which delves into the career of renowned costume designer Patricia Field. The festival will also highlight innovative projects exploring themes of climate activism, artificial intelligence, and mental health in the fashion industry.ASVOFF awards a range of prizes, including Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and the Grand Prize, honoring creativity across technical and artistic categories.
