The Dance Reflections Festival unveils new frontiers

Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels returns to London in 2025, offering a vibrant celebration of contemporary dance from March 12th to April 8th. This annual festival, in collaboration with Sadler’s Wells, presents a diverse program of performances by nine international dance companies across multiple venues, including the newly opened Sadler’s Wells East. As part of the festival’s mission to support both the preservation and innovation of choreographic art, it features works that push the boundaries of the genre and offer new perspectives on the evolving landscape of modern dance.

Among the highlighted performances is Merce Cunningham Forever, a tribute to the legendary choreographer, presented by the Lyon Opera Ballet. The program includes iconic works like Beach Birds and BIPED, where Cunningham’s use of technology and chance choreography explores both abstract and sensuous movements. Another standout is Age of Content by (LA)HORDE and the Ballet National de Marseille, which examines the blending of virtual and real worlds, using video and dynamic stage design to explore identity, technology, and the digital age. Don’t forget to read our conversation with innovative collective (LA)HORDE as they share their insights on the ‘age of content’, their interdisciplinary approach to art and the poetic essence of their choreography.

The festival also features Close Up by Noé Soulier, a thought-provoking piece inspired by Bach’s The Art of Fugue, which combines live music with dance and video to explore the intricate relationships between body, movement, and perception. With its mix of classical and contemporary influences, the 2025 edition of Dance Reflections promises to be an unmissable exploration of the art of dance.
