The innovative Visions2030‘s project has landed in Rio de Janeiro, inviting audiences to engage with climate change and art through a groundbreaking AI experience. From early October until December 18th, 2025, the Lumisphere Experience is installed outside the iconic Museum of Tomorrow, offering visitors a multi-sensory journey into imagining sustainable and hopeful futures.
Artificial Intelligence and creativity
Conceived by New York-based studio Visions2030 and co-designed with San Francisco’s immersive design studio Minds Over Matter, the installation centers on three interconnected domes inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s geodesic forms. The first dome, the Orientation dome, introduces visitors to the environmental challenges facing the planet while priming them for creative participation. A digital “campfire” projects shifting, colorful visuals accompanied by a guided audio narration, encouraging reflection on both the threats and possibilities presented by climate change.
The second, Immersion dome, features reclining seating and overhead projections that combine light and sound in a meditative environment. Here, visitors are invited to expand their consciousness, considering new ways of thinking about ecological and technological futures.
AI experience: dreaming a better world
The final Creation dome allows participants to interact directly with artificial intelligence. Using tablets and prompts, visitors design their “dream world,” choosing landscapes, moods, and sustainable solutions such as wind energy, solar power, or clean nuclear technology. AI then generates unique images of these future visions, which are displayed on public screens and available for download. Through this process, artificial intelligence and creativity become a tool to translate human imagination into vivid, interactive forms.
Visions2030 founder Carey Lovelace described AI as a neutral tool—a “hammer” that can be used responsibly—allowing visitors to imagine positive futures without fear or restriction. By merging technology, visual storytelling, and participatory design, the project encourages participants to consider their personal and collective roles in shaping a sustainable planet.
Interactive and reflective installations
The Lumisphere Experience also collects data from participants, providing insights into collective aspirations for a harmonious, natural, and peaceful future. The installation’s meditative structure and interactive AI components foster an optimistic approach to climate change and art, shifting focus from dystopian narratives to empowered imagination.
Visitors navigate the domes sequentially: first absorbing context, then experiencing immersive meditative visuals, and finally creating their own AI-generated visions. This layered approach allows the audience to internalize, reflect, and actively participate in shaping the narrative of the future.
