From 4th to 6th August 2026, Other Circle in Copenhagen hosts People Make The Clothes, Clothes Make The People, offering a rare glimpse into C.P. Company’s archive, which is being opened to the public for the first time. Celebrating over fifty years of innovation, this exhibition reveals how relentless experimentation, technical ingenuity and Italian craftsmanship have made the brand a leading force in modern menswear.
Conceived as a conversation between heritage and innovation, the exhibition treats the archive as a dynamic laboratory rather than a historical record. Every garment reflects an ongoing pursuit of new ideas, demonstrating how past discoveries continue to shape the future of sportswear.
Archive fashion as the living memory of sportswear innovation
Across two galleries, visitors follow C.P. Company’s creative journey through landmark archival pieces. Early graphic T-shirts and knitwear by Massimo Osti lead to icons such as the Goggle Jacket and Explorer Jacket, while pioneering textile developments—including Tinto Terra treatments and garment-dyed GORE-TEX®—highlight the brand’s relentless material research.
Displayed as design documents rather than museum objects, the garments reflect an exhibition format first introduced by Osti for the brand’s 15th-anniversary retrospective in Berlin in 1987. Sketching the evolution of each idea from concept to finished piece, the installation also honours the designers who extended Osti’s legacy—including Moreno Ferrari, Alessandro Pungetti, Paul Harvey, and Leonardo Fasolo—underscoring decades of continuous innovation.
The second gallery celebrates garment dyeing, the signature process that defines C.P. Company’s visual identity. Its focal point is a dramatic cylindrical installation featuring a single jacket passing through successive colour transformations, revealing the remarkable depth and complexity of the technique. This exhibition celebrates C.P. Company’s ongoing influence on archive fashion and the future of technical sportswear. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the brand’s rich history.
