To celebrate the NINJAGO 15th anniversary, LEGO has invited New York artist Futura to bring his distinctive visual language to the fantasy world of its iconic ninja franchise. The collaboration introduces three custom artworks, led by the new Ninja of the Futura, and will debut in Seoul on September 18th.
From pointman to ninja: a new character takes shape
The centrepiece, Ninja of the Futura, merges the classic LEGO minifigure with Futura’s signature Pointman character and the visual vocabulary of NINJAGO. His elongated silhouette, pointed details and distinctive oval eyes give the figure an otherworldly presence, while a backpack filled with tools positions him as a mentor to the young ninjas, suggesting knowledge and experience as sources of power.
Alongside Ninja of the Futura, the artist has reworked two beloved NINJAGO characters, Nya and Kai. Each of the three hand-embellished figures carries Futura’s graphic language, offering a glimpse into new possibilities for characters and storytelling within the NINJAGO Legends universe.
The collaboration arrives in Seoul
The collaboration will be unveiled on September 18th, 2026, at I-Park Mall Yongsan in Seoul, as part of the LEGO NINJAGO: Legends DuskFall Fan Event. Visitors can see the three artworks, receive exclusive co-created merchandise, and experience the latest NINJAGO sets and attend the world premiere of the franchise’s first anime series.
Don’t miss our conversation with Futura, in which he opens up about the ever-changing limits of creative freedom and the imagination that gives him a sense of possibility.
