JACQUEMUS and Martin Parr

In the book, Le Chouchou, published by JACQUEMUS, fashion and photography come together. After the success of their previous works, Images (2020) and Marseille Je T’aime (2017), this latest book is guaranteed to captivate followers of both fields.

British artist-photographer Martin Parr captured the essence of JACQUEMUS’ Fall 2023 fashion show, Le Chouchou, held at the scenic Château de Versailles. Popular for his style of photography that astutely ridicules mundane life with a quirky sense of humor, Parr has had an outstanding career of over four decades.

Martin Parr is a photographer who takes pictures of real-life situations, and news coverage, he is a member of Magnum Photos. He captures society in a personal, funny, and cultural way. Parr is very interested in showing the differences between rich and poor people in the UK and the rest of the Western world.

Simon Porte Jacquemus was impressed by Parr’s anthropological and sociological approach to the craft, which matches his own fondness for Parr’s lively and impulsive style. The book presents a window into different worlds, capturing the charm of imperfect and serendipitous moments with a cheerful attitude.
