Within the framework of Art Verona 2023, the non-profit Spazio Vitale presents for the first time Theo Triantafyllidis: Sisyphus Cycles, curated by Domenico Quaranta. The exhibition seamlessly integrates four of the Greek artist’s simulations into a cohesive and engaging narrative. It takes the viewer on an intricate journey through ecosystems and worlds meticulously programmed to evolve autonomously.
Theo Triantafyllidis is an artist who explores the nuances of spatial experience and the mechanics of embodiment in hybrid realities, delving into the realms of digital and physical media. He creates interactive scenarios in immersive environments using game algorithms, engines, virtual reality headsets and experimental performance methods. Triantafyllidis’s worlds are characterized by unsettling interactions and precarious physics, blended with unsettling, absurd and poetic situations that invite the viewer to engage with new realities. Through the lens of monster theory, he explores themes of isolation, sexuality and violence, delving into their visceral extremes.
