Biopods

Biopods

A team from the Rhode Island School of Design has created Biopods, floating planting beds made from mycelial biomaterial in a mosaic pattern. These structures are designed to reintroduce native plants and purify water through bioremediation in degraded wetland ecosystems. Focusing on the Providence River, the Biopod project aims to create a community-centered purification system by introducing miniature wetlands that use organic processes to address historical pollution.
