Wilds of Creativity

As part of Paris Fashion Week Menswear Autumn/Winter 2024, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE presented its AW24 collection in collaboration with French designer Ronan Bouroullec at the Palais de Tokyo. Going beyond traditional admiration, the collection seamlessly integrates Bouroullec’s art into the garments through the brand’s iconic pleat, entitled Immersed in the Wilds of Creativity.

Bouroullec’s artistic influence is at the heart of the collection, shaping its design and exploring the interaction between clothing and design. Utilizing the white space of the original work, the garments take the shape as shirts, coats, scarves and cushions. Bouroullec’s expressive strokes are brought to life through knitted fabrics, dynamic patterns, delicate embroidery and organic silhouettes, creating wearable art for the models. This collaboration reflects a long-standing relationship, with Bouroullec recalling his deep connection with Issey Miyake since his youth and the impactful exhibition in Paris.
