Chanel celebrates 100 years in the U.K. with Arts & Culture Magazine

To commemorate 100 years in the U.K., CHANEL introduces Arts & Culture Magazine, a new print publication that captures the maison’s spirit beyond the runway. This inaugural edition, led by the CHANEL Culture Fund under the direction of Yana Peel, reflects the house’s enduring commitment to creativity, heritage, and cultural innovation. Arts & Culture Magazine is not just a celebration of the past—it’s a blueprint for the future.

Volume 1 of Arts & Culture Magazine spans 250 visually rich pages, blending multiple paper textures with arresting imagery. A standout feature includes a 1921 statue of Gabrielle Chanel, styled with sunglasses from the 2002 collection—linking legacy with modernity. Through the lens of the CHANEL Culture Fund, the magazine highlights recent collaborations with artists, institutions, and curators who represent today’s most compelling creative voices.

What sets Arts & Culture Magazine apart is its thoughtful editorial approach. It features essays and visuals that delve into the intersection of fashion, fine art, and social impact. With lion motifs and symbolic still lifes, the publication honors Coco Chanel’s personal language while inviting readers to reimagine what cultural engagement means today. The CHANEL Culture Fund plays a pivotal role in supporting these efforts, ensuring that every page contributes to a broader cultural dialogue.

To mark the magazine’s launch, CHANEL has transformed the Foreign Exchange News kiosk in London’s Bayswater into an immersive cultural pop-up—open to the public until June 28th. It’s a living installation of what Arts & Culture Magazine represents: accessible, creative, and rooted in place.

In addition to London, Arts & Culture Magazine will be distributed in 20 cities worldwide, including Paris, New York, and Tokyo, reinforcing CHANEL Culture Fund’s global mission to uplift bookstores and print culture. This initiative isn’t simply about marking a milestone; it’s a powerful expression of CHANEL’s evolution as a patron of the arts.

With Arts & Culture Magazine, CHANEL once again proves that fashion is more than clothing—it’s a cultural force shaped by ideas, aesthetics, and a deep sense of purpose. And at the heart of it all is the CHANEL Culture Fund, fueling the maison’s vision for the next century.
