Ai Weiwei will interact with artificial intelligence as part of a new art project, Ai vs AI, commissioned by CIRCA. For 81 days, coinciding with the artist’s time in a Chinese prison, his questions will be broadcast daily at 8:24 pm local time on public screens in cities around the world. The questions will cover a wide range of topics including human rights, quantum superposition and economic considerations.
Some of the most challenging questions are as follows ‘Who owns whom in democratic societies?’, ‘Do people crave death?’ and ‘Which people would benefit most from you in warfare? The answers to these questions will be provided by both AI algorithms and Ai Weiwei, and will be available on the CIRCA.ART website and social media. Ai Weiwei’s communication with artificial intelligence will take place from 11 January to 31 March.
