Apple’s ‘Designers of Tomorrow’ puts presence, sensory experience and human connection in focus

Apple and Design Miami return with Designers of Tomorrow, an initiative championing emerging designers exploring the relationship between technology, materials and human experience. At Design Miami Paris, running from October 20th to 25th, 2026, this year’s theme, Design for Presence, considers how design can slow the pace of daily life, sharpen the senses and deepen our connection with the world around us.

Led by curator Rodman Primack, the programme builds on its inaugural 2025 edition, offering emerging talents an international platform to experiment with Apple technology. This year’s participants are Isabel Rower (US), Salem S. Charabi (Denmark–Egypt), Parafernalia, Sebastián Zorrilla and Genki Matsumura (Mexico), and Yoonjeong Lee (Korea). Their work will be showcased at L’hôtel de Maisons during the Paris fair.

Design for Presence: objects that encourage attention

In an increasingly fast-paced world, Design for Presence asks how materials, sensory qualities and encounters with designed spaces can foster a more attentive relationship with everyday life. The participating designers respond to this shared theme through distinct cultural perspectives and creative processes, using Apple technology to support experimentation.

A Global Jury Champions Emerging Talent

The selection is led by Rodman Primack, co-founder of AGO Projects, alongside an international jury spanning design, art, architecture and curating. Members include Molly Anderson, Apple’s head of industrial design; Nigerian designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello; Alexandra Cunningham of the Judd Foundation; designer Fabien Capello; artist Hun Chung Lee; Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher of SFMOMA; interior designer Marion Mailaender; designer Minjae Kim; and Jennifer Roberts.

The programme’s first edition in 2025 featured Marco Campardo, Paris-based duo Marie & Alexandre, Atelier Duyi Han and Jolie Ngo, examining the interplay between digital tools, traditional craftsmanship and material experimentation.

For its second edition, Designers of Tomorrow shifts its focus towards attention, sensory experience and human connection, asking how design can foster more meaningful encounters with the objects and environments that shape daily life.
