Burberry and V&A join forces to transform Fashion Gallery

Burberry has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum, supporting the transformation of its Fashion Gallery in South Kensington. Set to reopen in spring 2027, the newly redesigned space will be renamed The Burberry Gallery, marking a milestone in the intersection of fashion and culture.

The project aims to create a dynamic, participatory space that enhances visitor engagement with the V&A’s renowned fashion collection. Alongside the gallery’s redesign, an extensive program of events—both digital and in-person—will expand access to fashion education. Burberry CEO Joshua Schulman described the initiative as “a celebration of fashion’s rich history and an investment in inspiring future generations of creatives.”

Originally last renovated in 1962, the Fashion Gallery is one of the museum’s most visited permanent spaces. The V&A has long showcased Burberry’s legacy, featuring its designs in past exhibitions such as Fashioned from Nature and Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear.

Tristram Hunt, Director of the V&A, highlighted the shared heritage between the museum and Burberry, stating that this collaboration will help “bring the V&A’s incredible fashion collections to audiences in new and accessible ways.” Until the gallery’s reopening, visitors can explore the V&A’s fashion archives online or at the upcoming V&A East Storehouse from May 31st, 2025.
