Japanese fashion designer Jun Takahashi sent a collection of glowing terrarium dresses down the runway at Paris Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2024, leaving the audience in awe. The dresses were fitted with terrariums of roses and butterflies that lit up the runway, creating a surreal and dreamlike atmosphere.
The dresses were part of Takahashi’s Deep Mist collection, inspired by the angelic and ethereal. The collection featured a mix of garments embellished with giant prints, capturing the designer’s artworks characterised by the absence of faces. But it was the terrarium concept that absolutely stole the show.
The dresses were made of transparent fabric that allowed the viewer to see the terrariums inside. The roses were in full bloom, and the butterflies were fluttering around freely. The dresses were also fitted with LED lights, which illuminated them from the inside.
The terrarium ball gowns were a unique and innovative take on fashion. They were both beautiful and otherworldly, perfectly capturing the spirit of Takahashi’s collection.
