Celine creative director Hedi Slimane presented Tomboy womenswear collection in a short film that captured the show in the reading rooms and outside areas of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris

Celine Spring collection 2024

Presented in a short film shot at the prestigious Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris, near the Celine atelier on Rue Vivienne, Hedi Slimane’s distinctive vision for maison is manifested in the launch of his Summer 2024 womenswear collection. The Tomboy collection captures the effortlessly stylish spirit of college life.

Slimane has paid homage to the early 2000s in recent Celine collections, including the last show entitled The Age of Indieness and the desire to capture the mood of an indie summer. Ruffled dresses, cut-off denim, sequined leather jackets and the revival of the ‘original skinny jean’ reflect the undone and dishevelled glamour of this era.

The Tomboy collection captures a similar mood to the music of LCD Soundsystem’s Too Much Love, showcasing heavy boots, distressed denim, oversized leather jackets, hoodies and checked flannel shirts inspired by 2000s Hollywood street style. The collection also includes tailored tweed jackets, sleek chain handbags and softly flared jeans, reflecting the designer’s signature Parisian bourgeois style.
