Vans rethinks the future of footwear at Milan Design Week

Vans unveils Checkered Future: Frequency Manifest at Triennale di Milano during Milan Design Week, running from April 7th to 13th, 2025.
Created by designer Willo Perron and musician Tim Hecker, the immersive installation explores the physical expression of sound—turning invisible elements like waves and frequencies into a multi-sensory experience. The project connects directly to the launch of the Old Skool 36 FM, the first release under Vans’ new Future Make platform.
With this installation, Vans underscores its cultural impact and continued focus on creative innovation at the intersection of design and music. Set in one of Milan’s key design venues, the project invites visitors to step into a vision of Vans’ future shaped by energy, movement, and sound.
