At Expo 2025 Osaka, Dior presents a striking homage to craft, emotion, and Franco-Japanese dialogue within the French Pavilion under the theme Hymne à l’amour. Running from April 13th to October 13th, the installation unfolds across a dreamlike landscape where couture, design, and fine art come together in a celebration of savoir-faire. The space is anchored by over 400 pristine toiles—three-dimensional expressions of original sketches—alongside floating Dior perfume bottles reimagined through 3D printing.
Japanese artist Yuriko Takagi animates the scene with ethereal images of Dior models, infusing the installation with a poetic, almost cinematic quality. Visitors are also drawn to the 2021 reinterpretation of the iconic Medallion chair by Tokujin Yoshioka, a piece that bridges the Maison’s heritage with future-forward design. At the center, architect Kazuyo Sejima’s crystalline version of the Lady Dior—created for the Lady Dior As Seen By project—offers a sculptural nod to Christian Dior’s original dream of becoming an architect.
Dior’s iconic Bar Jacket appears in blue, white, and red, standing beside the Amphores Tricolores, first designed by Dior in 1949 and reissued for the Paris 2024 Games. A Rodin sculpture further grounds the installation, evoking the timeless power of form and gesture. The overall scenography, developed by Nathalie Crinière, merges elegance with emotion in a fluid and immersive environment.
Part of LVMH’s larger presence at the French Pavilion, Dior’s display speaks to Japan’s lasting influence on the House and its commitment to artisanal excellence. As one of the event’s key cultural moments, the installation exemplifies Dior’s evolving dialogue between tradition and innovation.
