Funghi tabletop

The Funghi tabletop is a remarkable mycelium creation designed by Corentin Mahieu and Bento Architecture in collaboration with Sonian. This innovative piece embodies circular design principles and aims to minimize environmental impact and waste through the use of biodegradable, biologically sourced materials. Unveiled at the Collectible fair in Brussels, the tabletop is a testament to sustainable design practices.

The tabletop, composed of mycelium, has matured on a wooden frame, grown on a substrate derived from the excess wood material generated during the production process. Harvested from the Sonian Forest, the species of mycelium used to create this piece thrives naturally on local beech wood. The table measures 75 cm high, 100 cm wide and 233 cm long.
