Kwangho Lee Milan Design Week intrecciato

Kwangho Lee collaborates with Bottega Veneta for a site-specific Milan Design Week installation

During Milan Design Week 2026, Bottega Veneta partners with Korean artist Kwangho Lee to present Lightful, a site-specific installation at its Via Sant’Andrea boutique (April 20–26). Framed as an encounter between material and illumination, the project extends the ongoing convergence of fashion, design, and contemporary art within the city.

Suspended woven structures—central to Lee’s practice—are paired with luminous sculptures crafted from Bottega Veneta’s leather fettucce. Realised in deep black and green tones chosen by Creative Director Louise Trotter, the installation shifts with light, revealing the tactile and spatial potential of the material.

Intrecciato as a living language of form

The house’s signature intrecciato is treated not as a fixed technique but as a mutable language. Transposed into space and activated by light, it becomes a framework for experimentation—where tradition is continuously reworked rather than preserved. Developed in dialogue with artisans in Montebello Vicentino, Lightful reflects a shared commitment to craft as both method and philosophy.

Extending beyond the boutique through a series of interventions across Milan, the project reads as a dispersed environment—an evolving composition in which weaving, light, and material coalesce into a fluid spatial narrative.
