The Venice Film Festival has long served as the international stage for Miu Miu’s visionary series, and the 2025 edition continues that tradition. Fragments for Venus will be unveiled alongside independent works from across the globe, highlighting the series’ commitment to both cinematic artistry and female-led storytelling.

Launched in 2011, Miu Miu Women’s Tales is now the longest-running fashion-backed short film platform dedicated exclusively to female directors. Over the past 15 years, 29 episodes have showcased bold, experimental voices from around the world, each creating a cinematic landscape where women’s imagination takes center stage. With Alice Diop joining the roster, the series enters a new chapter of cultural relevance, seamlessly blending fashion, cinema, and contemporary discourse.

Alice Diop’s ‘Fragments for Venus

In Fragments for Venus, Alice Diop explores the delicate balance between two worlds: the opulence of luxury and the raw pulse of street life. The narrative follows a young woman who moves between museum-like stillness and the vibrant chaos of the city, searching for meaningful human connection. By weaving together these contrasting experiences, Diop brings forward a reflection on identity, authenticity, and the beauty of inhabiting multiple spaces at once.
