As of today, the journey has officially come to an end — but Nike ACG’s latest Nike brand activation has left a strong imprint on how performance, place, and storytelling can move together. Last week, Nike ACG unveiled the All Conditions Express, a repurposed Italian commuter train transformed into a mobile basecamp, carrying athletes and creatives from Milan into the Orobic Alps as part of the brand’s global reintroduction.
Nike ACG and the ‘All Conditions Express’
Departing from Milan Central Station and running from February 4th to February 8th, the All Conditions Express was conceived as a literal and symbolic bridge between city and wilderness. The four-day journey underscored Nike ACG’s renewed focus on trail running, hiking, and high-intensity outdoor exploration — grounding the brand’s technical philosophy in real terrain and unpredictable alpine conditions.
High-profile athletes, including Jannik Sinner and Bebe Vio, joined the inaugural ride, testing ACG footwear and apparel far from the studio or showroom, and reinforcing the line’s commitment to performance in motion.
A Nike brand activation on rails
More than a visual statement, the project functioned as a fully immersive Nike brand activation. Each carriage of the train was redesigned around athlete needs and community exchange. On board, passengers moved between guided trail runs, hiking sessions, workshops, and gear briefings, creating a rhythm that echoed the cadence of outdoor training itself.
The activation culminated in the mountains around Pian dei Resinelli and Lake Silvaplana, where Nike ACG apparel — including the Lava Loft down jacket and Radical AirFlow racing top — was put to use in the exact conditions it was designed for.
Inside the Nike ACG train design
Visually unmistakable, the train was painted in Nike ACG’s signature orange, turning a heritage Italian railway into a moving manifesto. Inside, the design balanced utility and atmosphere: café-style hubs, custom seating, seeding spaces, and a dedicated gear laboratory showcased innovations such as the ACG Ultrafly trail shoe.
With the All Conditions Express now back at its final station, Nike ACG’s message is clear: the future of outdoor performance is not static. It moves — across landscapes, disciplines, and cultures — and sometimes, it rides on rails.
