Hiroshi Fujiwara Reimagines the Nike Mind series
For this collaboration, Hiroshi Fujiwara—often referred to as the “Godfather of Streetwear” — reworks the Mind 002 silhouette, giving it a refined design language rooted in simplicity and precision.
The Particle Grey edition features a breathable Flyknit upper in various shades of grey, creating a clean, streamlined look. Fujiwara replaces the standard construction with a lighter, sock-like knit structure, integrating exposed Flywire cables and a minimal, pulley-style lacing system to ensure a secure fit without adding bulk.
Subtle branding details reinforce the collaboration’s identity: the sculpted midsole bears the typography “FRAGMENT CONCEPT TESTING”, and fragment design’s iconic double lightning bolt logo appears discreetly on the heel and insoles.
Footwear innovation through neuroscience-inspired design
At the heart of the Nike Mind 002 lies the collection’s defining footwear innovation—a proprietary recovery platform designed to promote relaxation and sensory stimulation. Both the Mind 001 and Mind 002 models feature 22 independent foam nodes embedded in the sole, engineered to align with anatomical pressure points across the foot. These small, piston-like pods are designed to engage neural pathways and provide a recovery-focused experience similar to the technology used by elite athletes.
With the Nike x fragment design Mind 002 Particle Grey, Fujiwara successfully bridges experimental performance technology and contemporary sneaker culture—delivering a model that highlights the evolving intersection of footwear innovation, design minimalism, and modern recovery-focused performance.
