OMA’s vision for Louis Vuitton’s French Pavilion

At the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka-Kansai, Louis Vuitton will present an immersive scenography within the French Pavilion, designed by Shohei Shigematsu of OMA. Running from April 13th to October 13th on Yumeshima Island, the installation will highlight the maison’s legacy of craftsmanship and innovation.

The experience unfolds across two distinct rooms, each offering a unique exploration of Louis Vuitton’s heritage and vision. The first space, conceived as a vast “library” of trunks, showcases 85 variations that reflect the house’s mastery of savoir-faire. In the second room, a suspended “globe” of trunks evokes the spirit of travel, inviting visitors into a dreamlike environment. This dynamic space is further enhanced by a video installation by Japanese artist Daito Manabe, creating a sensory journey that bridges tradition and technology.

The scenography aligns with the broader theme of the French Pavilion, A Hymn to Love, celebrating cultural exchange and artistic excellence. As a key highlight of LVMH’s presence at the Expo, the installation is expected to attract millions of visitors.
