From June 19th to 29th, 2025, Hermès invites visitors to Pier 36 in New York City for Mystery at the Grooms’—a bold and imaginative Hermès installation that transforms the brand’s equestrian heritage into an immersive, theatrical experience. Set in a fictional French estate known as the Grooms’ House, this Hermès installation invites guests of all ages to become detectives, solving the enigma of a herd of missing horses.
Across six meticulously crafted rooms—each with its own scent, lighting, and sonic ambiance—Mystery at the Grooms’ unfolds like a sensory novel. The Head Groom’s Office, the Dormitory, the Pantry, and more are filled with clues tucked inside signature Hermès items: from saddlery and ceramics to ready-to-wear and fine home décor. Every room holds a secret, turning each step into part of a whimsical investigation.
The journey begins in a surreal garden of horse-shaped topiaries and floral Hermès motifs, immediately drawing guests into the unique atmosphere of the Hermès installation. The Laundry room hides a clue among muted garments, while a painting in the Dormitory offers a quiet revelation. Every detail of the Hermès installation reflects the house’s devotion to craftsmanship—from polished oak finishes to hand-painted tiles.
After debuting in Shanghai in 2023, this unforgettable Hermès installation now makes its North American premiere. Designed for guests seven and up, it offers a full hour of immersive storytelling—free of charge, though walk-ins are limited.
Mystery at the Grooms’ isn’t just another brand experience—it’s a celebration of narrative, design, and the simple thrill of discovery. As this Hermès installation proves, luxury can still surprise, engage, and enchant.
