The blend of technology and nature

AZULIK Mobility has unveiled the first prototype of its EK concept electric vehicle. Designed and produced by Roth Fablab under the direction of Roth Architecture for AZULIK Real Estate‘s new project, the vehicle features a unique doorless design.

The design is inspired by organic architecture, which is reflected in the flowing lines of the fibreglass body. The steering wheel is also organic in style, made from tropical sapote wood and has a cobweb-like design. The interior of the EK seats three people: two passengers on either side with their legs outstretched and the driver in front of the wooden steering wheel. A table covered in a waterproof fabric similar to the seat material is placed between the passengers.

The EK vehicle is specifically designed to meet the unique environmental challenges of Tulum’s urban environment. Production of the electric vehicle takes place in Quintana Roo, supporting the regional economy and reducing the environmental footprint. The use of local materials such as sapote wood and waterproof fabric emphasises the vehicle’s functionality and aesthetics. The EK combines local craftsmanship with modern technology, emphasising noise reduction, minimised carbon footprint and improved manoeuvrability. This electric vehicle is the true embodiment of sustainable transport and was unveiled at a special presentation on May 20th, 2024.
