The first collaboration between Alessi and C.P. Company will be unveiled at Milan Design Week 2026

During Milan Design Week 2026, Alessi and C.P. Company will present their first collaboration. Rooted in the language of Italian design, this project is shaped by a shared obsession with material experimentation and process.

Factory inspiration and the evolution of Italian design thinking

This collaboration unites two distinct yet closely aligned creative universes: Alessi’s domestic object culture and C.P. Company’s utilitarian, garment-led heritage. Both brands treat their archives as living laboratories where memory, technique and human craftsmanship evolve continuously into new forms.

At the core of the project is the concept of open work, initially created by Umberto Eco, which states that design is never static—it is shaped through use, interpretation, and time. From this perspective, objects and garments become part of an ongoing dialogue between industry and imagination, in which Italian manufacturing tradition is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

A unifying ritual runs through the collaboration: coffee. From design studios in Bologna to workshops in Omegna, coffee becomes both a metaphor and a method—an everyday gesture that signals the beginning of creative exchange.

Inside a collaborative system where industrial heritage becomes contemporary language

The project will also unfold through an immersive installation entitled BLEND: The Kinetic Pulse of Italian Industrial Mastery, which will open on April 21st, 2026, at the C.P. Company showroom in Milan during Milan Design Week. Designed as an extension of the collaboration’s essence, the installation translates the energy of the factory into a spatial experience where material, movement, and process converge.

The project showcases the shared industrial heritage of the two brands, presenting design not as a finished product, but as an evolving system that is continuous, adaptive and brimming with experimentation.

The Alessi x C.P. Company collection

The capsule collection brings together reimagined design icons and technical apparel. Alessi has introduced a selection of its most iconic items, including the 9090 espresso maker by Richard Sapper, Jean Nouvel’s double-wall cups and mugs, and Enzo Mari’s Arran tray, all of which have been reimagined with a deep black PVD finish.

Accompanying these, C.P. Company presents a nylon B overshirt in three exclusive colours — Total Eclipse, Malachite Green and Deep Lavender — crafted using garment-dyeing techniques that give each piece a unique, aged appearance. A custom lens detail fuses the visual identities of both brands, referencing factory graphics and archival industrial codes.

The collection will be available from April 21st to 25th, 2026, at the Milan showroom and via both brands’ official channels, including a limited-edition set presented in bespoke packaging.
