Wish This Was Real

American photographer Tyler Mitchell presents an exhibition entitled Wish This Was Real at C/O Berlin. The project will feature Mitchell’s work from the last ten years, including photography and video, and will showcase his exploration of portraiture, nature and social memory. The exhibition is divided into three thematic sections: Lives/Liberties, Postcolonial/Pastoral and Family/Fraternity, each revealing different aspects of his creativity.

A key part of the exhibition is the installation Altars/Acres, which includes works by other artists such as Garrett Bradley and Grace Wales Bonner, and highlights intergenerational dialogue and cultural heritage. The exhibition will also feature Mitchell’s new works printed on fabric and mirrors, adding an extra dimension.

Visitors will see how Mitchell’s photographs intertwine the past and the imagined future, creating an honest and profound view of contemporary life. The exhibition will be on view at C/O Berlin from June 1st to August 31st 2024. Don’t miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Tyler Mitchell and his visual narrative of beauty and self-expression, and read our interview with him in the Spring/Summer issue.
