The exhibition Rebecca Horn, currently on show at Haus der Kunst, offers an in-depth exploration of the artist’s multifaceted work. Spanning six decades, the project focuses on the performative and choreographic aspects of Horn’s art, which she describes as intricate relationships between space, light, physicality, sound and rhythm. The exhibition concept explores how the artist blurs the boundaries between nature and culture, technology and biology, and human and non-human elements.
Horn’s works, ranging from early drawings in the 1960s to performances, films, mechanical sculptures and large-scale installations, are presented to highlight her visionary symbols of the interconnectedness of bodies and technology. Her work continually questions the human position within a larger cosmic context, challenging traditional views of existence. The exhibition also emphasises her use of dance as a medium and catalyst for her artistic expression.
The Rebecca Horn exhibition, under the curatorship of Jana Baumann in collaboration with Radia Soukni, is on view until October 12th, 2024.
