H&M is celebrating two decades of designer collaborations with its Pre-loved Archive, a curated selection of iconic pieces from past collections, styled and reimagined by Kate Phelan. Featuring designs from legendary figures like Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, and Viktor & Rolf, the archive embodies the idea that “a good piece can last more than one lifetime,” a sentiment expressed by Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Creative Advisor, and former Head of Design, Margareta Van Den Bosch. This initiative repurposes key pieces collected from vintage shops and the second-hand platform Sellpy, uniting fashion history with modern sustainability.
Beginning in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld’s groundbreaking collection, H&M’s designer collaborations have brought high fashion to the masses, with visionary names like Versace, Margiela, and Simone Rocha shaping each season with unexpected and desirable designs. The Pre-loved Archive includes pieces from many past collections, including contributions from Jimmy Choo, Sonia Rykiel, and Giambattista Valli, offering fans a second chance to own part of H&M’s storied collaborations.
Beginning tomorrow, October 31st, H&M will release the eighth drop of this archive online, offering global fashion enthusiasts access to these exclusive, limited-edition treasures.
