CONTROL Gallery in Los Angeles is hosting Just Like Heaven, a milestone exhibition celebrating the iconic collaborations of Heaven by Marc Jacobs. Running through January 18th, 2025, the exhibition celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Marc Jacobs brand and showcases its groundbreaking contributions to blending art and fashion.
Co-curated by Sky Gellatly and the Heaven by Marc Jacobs team, the exhibition features a mix of renowned and emerging talents whose works have defined the brand’s ethos.
The show brings together over 20 original pieces from artists like Sofia Coppola, Damien Hirst, and Marilyn Minter, alongside fresh voices such as Alake Shilling and photographer Petra Collins. The exhibition explores themes of nostalgia and subversion while championing new creative energy. Works range from Bladee’s vibrant collage made of candy wrappers to Alake Shilling’s whimsical bear sculptures, each reflecting the unique aesthetic of Heaven.
Several pieces, including Futura 2000’s graffiti art and Eri Wakiyama’s intricate sketches, were specifically created for the exhibition. Visitors can also see original works that inspired past collaborations, connecting decades of creativity with the brand’s forward-thinking approach. The show highlights the enduring dialogue between art and fashion, echoing Marc Jacobs’s long-standing vision to break boundaries and reimagine cultural intersections.
