BREAKFAST Studio presents an exciting collection of innovative works at Art Miami 2024, hosted at the Oliver Cole Gallery from December 3rd to 8th. Among the highlights is Consumption, a gold and marble arch that visualizes Miami’s real-time water usage via government data. As visitors pass through, their image reflects in gold, symbolizing the tension between human ambition and environmental impact. When still, the artwork ripples, illustrating the strain placed on natural resources.
The Elements Series offers a poetic exploration of nature’s forces—Celestia (clouds), Aura (wind), Aqua (waves), and Flamma (temperature). Each dynamic piece transforms real-time environmental data from specific cities into living artworks, emphasizing the beauty and fragility of the natural world.
Billion Dollar Arcade reimagines iconic video games like Pong and Breakout through real-time stock market data. With difficulty levels tied to the video game industry’s valuation, this series invites reflection on the intersection of pop culture, economics, and technology.
The Gusts Series captures the unseen rhythms of wind, translating its movements into interactive sculptures based on live data from a chosen city. These pieces symbolize humanity’s impact on the environment, blending fleeting natural elements with human influence.
Finally, Interwoven Existence II celebrates collective human diversity by weaving visitors’ silhouettes into a vibrant tapestry. This interactive installation underscores the unity found in shared experiences and origins.
BREAKFAST’s new works challenge viewers to engage with the dynamic connections between nature, technology, and humanity.
