Loro Piana, the iconic Italian Maison, will celebrate its 100th anniversary with its first-ever exhibition, held at the prestigious Museum of Art Pudong (MAP) in Shanghai from March 22nd to May 5th, 2025. The exhibition is part of a series of global events commemorating this centennial milestone and marks the first collaboration between the luxury House and the architecturally acclaimed MAP, designed by Ateliers Jean Nouvel.

Curated by Judith Clark, the exhibition offers an immersive retrospective of Loro Piana’s rich heritage, blending archival visuals, bespoke garments, and contemporary artworks. Visitors can explore the Maison’s mastery of fine fibres and craftsmanship through a sensory journey celebrating its enduring legacy. Highlighting the importance of China to the brand’s history, the exhibition also pays tribute to the herders and communities who have preserved the heritage of cashmere, a cornerstone of Loro Piana’s success.

One of the standout pieces is a series of garments crafted exclusively for the exhibition, designed to interact with artworks that narrate the intricate process of fibre transformation. Another highlight includes installations that explore the tactile qualities of Loro Piana’s iconic fabrics, offering visitors a hands-on experience of the Maison’s artistry.

The Museum of Art Pudong, a cultural landmark in Shanghai, provides an ideal setting for this unprecedented collaboration, reinforcing its reputation as a hub for international artistic exchange. The retrospective promises to be an inspiring celebration of tradition, innovation, and Loro Piana’s enduring pursuit of beauty and authenticity.
