Hauser & Wirth Downtown Los Angeles will host the highly anticipated U.S. premiere of BODYSUIT from February 20th–22nd, 2025, coinciding with Frieze LA. Created by artist George Rouy and renowned choreographer Sharon Eyal, the performance marks their first collaboration, blending movement, light, sound, and environment into a powerful live experience.

Originally commissioned by Hannah Barry Gallery and co-produced with Hauser & Wirth, BODYSUIT features five dancers navigating a space defined by Rouy’s large-scale silver and graphite painting. The choreography, infused with Eyal’s signature precision and intensity, is set to new electronic compositions by Rouy. Costumes designed by 16Arlington in collaboration with Rouy further enhance the immersive atmosphere. A mirrored dance floor and dynamic lighting transform the stage into an arena of emotional extremes, shifting between restraint and release. The performance, lasting approximately 45 minutes without intermission, is presented as part of the opening week of Rouy’s solo exhibition, The Bleed, Part II. This event offers a rare chance to witness a groundbreaking fusion of contemporary dance and visual art in Los Angeles.

Step into Sharon Eyal’s world, where movement, music, and emotion become one. In our interview, she shares insights on collaboration, identity, and the power of dance.
