Diesel’s Fall/Winter 2025 show redefined the traditional runway, unveiling an immersive, three-kilometer-long graffiti installation as its set design. Presented in Milan, the show took place within what is considered the largest graffiti installation ever created, wrapping the venue in layers of raw, expressive street art. The installation was a collaborative artwork orchestrated by Glenn Martens, Diesel’s creative director, and Studio Dennis Vanderbroeck, uniting over 7,000 graffiti artists from eight different countries.
The concept behind the set was to blur the lines between high fashion and street culture, embracing the unfiltered energy of graffiti as a democratic artistic form. In a radical move, Diesel invited both amateur and professional artists worldwide to contribute, sending blank fabric to participants weeks before the show. The result was a monumental patchwork of styles, tags, and murals, each piece carrying a distinct voice within a collective artistic statement.
A familiar icon from Diesel’s past reemerged as a focal point of the set—the colossal inflatable doll first introduced in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2023 show. Now transformed into a canvas for the graffiti artists’ work, the towering figure stood as a testament to Diesel’s ongoing dialogue between provocation and inclusivity. This evolution of the doll from symbol to collective artwork underscored the show’s celebration of community-driven creativity.
Beyond aesthetics, the set functioned as an immersive environment, allowing guests to experience street art on an unprecedented scale. The space felt less like a runway and more like an urban landscape in motion, where layers of spray-painted narratives converged in a chaotic yet unified expression.
