Chanel returns to Jardins, jardin with a new botanical creation titled Le Santal de Chanel, set to open from May 22nd to 25th, 2025, at the Parc de la Villa Windsor in Paris. Spanning 300 square meters, the ephemeral garden offers an immersive olfactory journey centered around sandalwood, a key ingredient in many of the House’s fragrances. This year’s installation draws inspiration from the island of Maré in New Caledonia, home to the sacred santalum austrocaledonicum.
The garden invites visitors to explore the sandalwood’s full lifecycle—from its raw, unprocessed form to its transformation into a luxury perfume note. The scenography evokes a sensory world rooted in ancestral Kanak culture, bringing together nature, craft, and storytelling. In line with the 2025 theme Adventure is in the gardens, Chanel offers a poetic exploration of sustainability and identity through scent. More than an installation, Le Santal de Chanel is a celebration of botanical beauty and the emotional depth of perfume.
