Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello honors queer artists with a poetic Summer 2026 collection

This June, Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello presented a stirring Spring/Summer 2026 menswear show at the Bourse de Commerce rotunda, turning the Parisian landmark into a space of quiet introspection and visual poetry. Against the backdrop of the museum’s contemporary art setting, Vaccarello paid homage to a lost generation of queer artists, spotlighting the emotional legacy of Larry Stanton, Patrick Angus, and Darrel Ellis—creators whose work captured desire and grief at the height of the AIDS crisis.

For Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello, this wasn’t just a seasonal showcase; it was a tribute rendered in style. Inspired by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot’s serene installation Clinamen, the presentation radiated calm and contemplation. The collection’s sculptural tailoring, sheer fabrics, and soft silhouettes conveyed intimacy, coded sensuality, and elegant restraint—hallmarks of Vaccarello’s vision.

Subtle styling cues—ties hidden under shirt buttons, oversized sunglasses, lightly cinched waists—evoked secrecy and mourning. The color story was equally thoughtful: tones of sand, salt, and stone were interrupted only by the occasional surge of blue or mustard, like fleeting memories of joy.

The Bourse de Commerce rotunda setting was no afterthought. Its circular architecture and art-rich atmosphere deepened the show’s meditative tone, making it a natural home for a collection built on remembrance and resilience.

A standout moment was a nod to Yves Saint Laurent in Oran, reinterpreted in sharp trenches and confident tailoring. As always, Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello manages to look both backward and forward—honoring hidden histories while speaking clearly to the now.
