Miu Miu Art Basel Paris: a bold return with Helen Marten’s ‘30 Blizzards’

Miu Miu continues its creative alliance with the art world as it returns to Art Basel Paris 2025 as an official partner. This year, the Italian fashion house deepens its cultural imprint with a new commission — 30 Blizzards — a performance-based work by Turner Prize-winning British artist Helen Marten, presented as part of the fair’s public art program.

Art Basel partners: fashion meets performance in the heart of Paris

Following last year’s acclaimed Tales & Tellers by Goshka Macuga, Miu Miu reaffirms its role among leading Art Basel partners, embracing contemporary art’s most experimental edges. 30 Blizzards will be unveiled at the Palais d’Iéna — a modernist architectural landmark just steps from the Seine — from October 22nd to 26th, 2025.

The work marks Helen Marten’s first foray into live performance, expanding on her sculptural and conceptual practice. Known for a visual vocabulary that layers symbolic meaning, Marten’s previous works merge industrial materials with domestic fragments, questioning how we construct perception and narrative.

Exploring human identity through artistic language

At the heart of 30 Blizzards is a meditation on time, identity, and structure. In a collaboration with theatre and opera director Fabio Cherstich and experimental composer Beatrice Dillon, the piece unfolds as an immersive choreography of sculpture, video, and movement. The performance reflects Marten’s signature artistic language — one that disrupts traditional forms and draws viewers into a world of layered metaphors and material storytelling.

This commission furthers Miu Miu’s commitment to women’s voices in contemporary culture, aligning with the brand’s long-running Women’s Tales initiative, which highlights the work of female filmmakers. In partnering once again with Art Basel Paris, the fashion house continues to build bridges between fashion, narrative, and avant-garde creative expression.

Art Basel Paris, now in its fourth edition, will present a wide range of free exhibitions and installations across the city as part of its Public Program, with Miu Miu’s commission as a highlight. As fashion continues to enter the cultural conversation through collaboration and experimentation, this performance signals a powerful fusion of artistic language and fashion vision.
