The seventh edition of Pictures for Purpose returns this December, bringing together a curated selection of international photographers to raise vital funds for those displaced by the ongoing conflict in Sudan. Running from 9th to 23rd December 2025, this edition continues the foundation’s mission of combining art and activism, offering collectors the chance to acquire unique works while supporting humanitarian relief.
Pictures for Purpose: A creative fundraiser
Since its founding in 2020, Pictures for Purpose has focused on using photography to address urgent global crises. This year, the foundation is collaborating with the UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, to provide life-saving support to Sudanese refugees, including access to shelter, clean water, medical care, and essential mental health services—especially for women and children. Proceeds from the print sale will directly benefit the UNHCR’s ongoing efforts in Sudan and neighboring countries.
Artists and works
This year’s edition features contributions from Jack Davison, Nadav Kander, Ala Kheir, and 20 other leading photographers, including Rinko Kawauchi, Blommers & Schumm, and Atong Atem. Each artist offers a print that reflects their distinctive style, often engaging with themes of displacement, resilience, and human experience. From poignant portraits to striking landscapes, the photographs act as visual letters, connecting collectors to the realities of life for Sudanese refugees.
Collectors can purchase prints directly through the Pictures for Purpose website, with most artists generously donating 100% of the proceeds to the cause. A small portion of the funds is retained by the foundation to ensure the sustainability of future initiatives.
Supporting urgent humanitarian needs through photography
Through the innovative format of curated print sales, Pictures for Purpose not only raises crucial funds but also gives photographers a platform to share stories of global significance. By participating in this initiative, collectors and art enthusiasts can play a tangible role in providing aid, while engaging with compelling works that merge artistry with advocacy.
