Now on view at Acne Paper Palais Royal, Angels With Dirty Faces marks a powerful new chapter for artist Jordan Hemingway, unveiled during the cultural momentum of Paris Fashion Week 2026. Open from January 22nd to March 15th, 2026, the exhibition presents a new body of work that positions Jordan Hemingway’s photography as a visceral response to a world in flux—intimate, confrontational, and deeply symbolic.
Paris Fashion Week 2026: a new voice at Palais Royal
Presented as Acne Paper Palais Royal’s first exhibition of 2026, Angels With Dirty Faces was previewed during Men’s Paris Fashion Week, placing the show at the intersection of fashion, art, and contemporary culture. Hemingway’s images explore the tension between the sacred and the profane, drawing on time-honoured icons, rituals, and archetypes. Movement and the body become central tools through which spirituality, desire, resistance, and vulnerability are examined—both individually and collectively.
“Angels” in Jordan Hemingway’s photography
The exhibition centres on Jordan Hemingway’s photography, which is mostly in black and white. The works represent a range of contrasts, including beauty and brutality, lust and restraint, and darkness and revelation. Hemingway describes his subjects as “angels,” figures born from shadow yet charged with life, each carrying an unspoken secret.
The cast includes Marina Abramović, Yves Tumor, Mariacarla Boscono, and Lewis G. Burton for Matières Fécales, transforming the exhibition into a theatrical procession of cultural figures. Their presence amplifies Hemingway’s ongoing dialogue with inherited iconography, echoing artistic lineages that stretch from Andy Warhol to Joel-Peter Witkin.
A landmark Paris exhibition
American-born and London-based, Jordan Hemingway is known for a practice rooted in traditional, material techniques while pushing toward a challenging contemporary edge. Angels With Dirty Faces marks his first solo exhibition in Paris, and his first public presentation in the city in five years.
With a career spanning leading global publications and collaborations with houses such as Chanel, Comme des Garçons, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Mugler, and Acne Studios, Hemingway has established himself as one of the most compelling image-makers of his generation. At Acne Paper Palais Royal, that vision finds a raw, resonant, and timely form.
