To mark the reopening of its newly redesigned Ginza flagship, Miu Miu brought its Jazz Club concept to Tokyo for a one-night gathering where live music, fashion, and Japanese nightlife culture collided in a richly atmospheric setting. Held on May 13th, 2026, the event also offered an exclusive preview of the upcoming Miu Miu Upcycled collection ahead of its campaign launch on May 18th.
Inspired by the intimacy of Japan’s jazz kissaten culture, the evening echoed Miu Miu’s ongoing fascination with music, femininity, and cinematic storytelling.
Miu Miu Jazz Club explored Japan’s jazz legacy
The evening opened inside Miu Miu’s newly redesigned Ginza flagship, where pale blue tones, warm oak surfaces, and intimate lighting shaped a refined after-hours atmosphere across three floors. Guests gathered for cocktails before moving through Tokyo for a curated series of performances and late-night events.
For one night, Miu Miu immersed itself in Japan’s rich jazz heritage—from smoky dance halls to underground clubs and the listening cafés known as jazz kissa that helped define the country’s postwar nightlife culture. Guided by the Japanese concepts of ma—the beauty of pause and space—and shizen, or naturalness, the evening carried a mood shaped by improvisation, intimacy, and emotional freedom. The programme also paid tribute to the women who helped shape Japan’s evolving jazz scene across generations.
Far beyond a conventional brand event, Miu Miu Jazz Club reflected the broader cultural world the house continues to build through film, literature, music, and performance. Velvet interiors, smoky lighting, live improvisation, and guests dressed in crystal embellishments, sharp tailoring, and archival-inspired silhouettes gave the evening the feeling of an underground salon rather than a fashion launch.
