Uchronia plants Le Grand Bouquet at the heart of the Grand Palais

For Paris Design Week 2026, French design studio Uchronia brings Le Grand Bouquet to the Rotonde d’Antin at the Grand Palais, where a monumental floral sculpture rises from the historic architecture. On view from September 11th to 20th, the installation forms part of the Grand Palais’s Design and Arts & Crafts Boutique programme, creating a vivid dialogue between contemporary design, heritage and craftsmanship.

Created specifically for the rotunda, Le Grand Bouquet draws its visual language from the surrounding architecture. Its stylised petals echo the floral motifs of the mosaic floor and vegetal mouldings along the arcades, while luminous metal forms rise in a sweeping circular arrangement, following the geometry of the space and directing the eye upwards.

Where architecture becomes a garden

The installation carries the Grand Palais’s ornamental vocabulary into a playful contemporary sculpture: a giant flower appears to have grown directly from the floor, its scale accentuating the grandeur of the rotunda while introducing movement and lightness.

The experience begins outside, where a brightly coloured inflatable structure stands on the forecourt. Its rounded forms soften the monumental façade and create a playful threshold into Uchronia’s imaginative world.

Colour, Craft and the Power of Joy

Colour and imagination give the installation its optimistic spirit, inviting visitors to gather around a shared visual gesture. Craftsmanship is equally central: the metal structure was produced with French specialists Atelier François Pouenat, while its glossy finish was developed with Seigneurie and PPG Group’s Chromatic, linking Uchronia’s exuberant aesthetic with French technical expertise.

Five circular Tréca Paris beds, upholstered by Manufacture Prelle, surround the flower’s base, introducing an unexpected domestic touch. Visitors can sit and pause within the installation, turning the sculpture into a place for rest and encounter.

A contemporary bloom within the Grand Palais

Le Grand Bouquet reflects the Grand Palais’s renewed role as a meeting point for art, design and contemporary culture following four years of renovation. Installed within the Rotonde d’Antin, it brings the building’s historic decorative language into dialogue with Uchronia’s colourful, theatrical approach.
