Les Journées Particulières LVMH Maisons

The art of the unseen: Les Journées Particulières 2026 opens LVMH’s doors

From Tiffany & Co.’s New York jewellery workshop to the photographic archives of Paris Match, Celine’s historic Parisian ateliers and the riverbanks of Cognac, Les Journées Particulières offers a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship and heritage behind LVMH. Returning on 16–18 October 2026 under the theme At the Source of Dreams, the event opens normally private spaces to the public, revealing the people, skills and traditions that shape the Group’s Maisons.

Beyond the façade: the stories behind LVMH Maisons

Launched in 2011, Les Journées Particulières invites visitors into workshops, historic buildings, wine cellars and archives usually closed to the public. Guided visits reveal the expertise behind luxury, from jewellery-making and garment construction to the preservation of historical images and natural resources.

The 2026 programme spans disciplines and locations, tracing the connections between artisanal knowledge, cultural memory and the landscapes that have shaped individual Maisons.

From sketch to diamond bird: inside Tiffany & Co.

At Tiffany & Co.’s Jewelry Design & Innovation Workshop in New York, visitors can follow the making of the Bird on a Rock fine jewellery collection, from initial sketches to gem-setting.

Designed by Jean Schlumberger in 1965, the iconic motif depicts a bird perched on a gemstone. Its origins lie in a brooch featuring white and yellow diamonds, created for art collector Rachel “Bunny” Mellon. Today, under the creative direction of Nathalie Verdeille, the collection carries Schlumberger’s vision into new forms.

Each piece requires more than eight artisans and approximately 50 hours of work. Their study of birds’ movement and posture informs each sculpted figure, carefully adapted to its individual gemstone.

Preserving history: the Paris Match photo archives

Near Paris, the Paris Match archives preserve more than 77 years of photojournalism, documenting historical events, international affairs and prominent figures. Founded in 1949 by Jean Prouvost, the magazine built its reputation on major reports, interviews and memorable scoops.

Archivists and a journalist guide visitors through the collection, revealing how photographs are classified, documented, digitised and prepared for publication. Their work ensures that images remain accessible as records of their time, safeguarding a visual history that continues to shape collective memory.

Inside Celine’s Paris workshops

At 16 rue Vivienne, Celine’s workshops occupy the Hôtel Colbert de Torcy, a 17th-century mansion designed by architect Pierre Le Muet. The Maison has worked from this historic address since late 2014.

Visitors can follow the creation of ready-to-wear garments, from patternmaking and cutting to assembly and embroidery. Each stage depends on the precision and judgement of specialists, whose knowledge determines how materials behave and how a garment acquires its final form.

Hennessy and the Charente River

In Cognac, Hennessy traces its history aboard a solar-powered boat travelling along the Charente. Founded by Richard Hennessy in 1765, the Maison developed alongside the river, whose waterways once connected the region with international markets.

The excursion recalls the flat-bottomed boats that historically navigated the Charente while highlighting the Maison’s commitment to water preservation. It also reveals the close relationship between cognac and its environment: grapes, water, French oak and generations of expertise all contribute to the character of the spirit.

Three days inside the world of luxury

From a jeweller shaping a diamond bird to an archivist safeguarding photographs, Les Journées Particulières 2026 reveals the human knowledge and local histories behind LVMH’s Maisons. Taking place from 16 to 18 October, the event invites visitors to encounter luxury through the hands, places and traditions that sustain it.
