A modern expression of Swedish Grace: Nordic Knots introduces Dancing Flower and Matches

Rooted in the elegance of Swedish Grace, Nordic Knots introduces Dancing Flower and Matches, a collection of hand-knotted rugs inspired by the influential early 20th-century design movement. Defined by classical proportions, restrained ornament and exceptional craftsmanship, Swedish Grace informs two distinct designs that reinterpret its enduring principles through a contemporary Scandinavian lens.

A tribute to Swedish design heritage

The collection debuted at Stockholm’s iconic Bio Skandia, designed by architect Gunnar Asplund in 1923. Its midnight-blue ceiling, star-like suspended silk globes and walls adorned with works by emerging artists offered an evocative backdrop for the launch, echoing the movement’s balance of ornament and simplicity.

Two expressions of Scandinavian craftsmanship

The collection explores contrasting patterns and textures. Dancing Flower features an organic floral motif, complemented by a subtle interplay of loop and pile, in warm Sand and muted Dusty Blue. Matches takes a more graphic approach, pairing rhythmic geometry and dense cut pile with delicate golden bamboo silk accents, in earthy Plum and Moss.

Both designs are hand-knotted in plush wool, with meticulous details that honour traditional craftsmanship and contemporary sensibilities. Through classical references, tactile surfaces and nuanced colour palettes, Dancing Flower and Matches offer a fresh interpretation of Swedish Grace for the modern home.

The collection launched on September 17th, 2026.
