THE STORY OF FEARLESS DESIGNERS

The exhibition Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion is the most comprehensive survey of contemporary fashion culture ever mounted in the UK. It opened at the Design Museum to coincide with London Fashion Week. Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion has been produced in collaboration with the British Fashion Council (BFC), curated by BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent Sarah Mower MBE, and co-curated by Rebecca Lewin, Senior Curator at the Design Museum.

The exhibition will tell the stories of hundreds of young designers who have changed the face of fashion and will showcase a range of innovative looks and collections that have gone down in fashion history. Rebel: 30 Years of London Fashion features works by JW Anderson, Wales Bonner, Erdem, Molly Goddard, Christopher Kane, Simona Rocha, and more. One of the highlights of the show is the swan gown designed by Marjan Pejoski that Björk wore to the 2001 Oscars. A never-before-seen series of photographs by Japanese fashion journalist Mina Wakatski of Alexander McQueen’s Taxi Driver collection will be part of the exhibition. Fashion items will be displayed alongside archival material, films, and drawings by the designer.
