Valentino strengthens its connection with the art realm through its sponsorship of Triennale Milano's 100th anniversary exhibition

Italian Painting Today

The exhibition Pittura Italiana Oggi will pay homage to modern Italian painting, representing another significant milestone in Valentino’s engagement with the arts. Pittura Italiana Oggi will run from 25 October 2023 to 11 February 2024 and is curated by Damiano Gullì, curator of contemporary art and public programs at the Triennale, with an exhibition design by Studio Italo Rota.

A culturally diverse and significant moment, Pittura Italiana Oggi showcases the work of 120 influential Italian artists from the 1960s to 2000. Among these artists are Benni Bosetto, Guglielmo Castelli, Francis Offman, Andrea Respino and Sofia Silvia, who have previously collaborated with Valentino as part of the Valentino Des Ateliers Haute Couture collection. This unique collection bridges the worlds of fashion and art, embracing their distinctiveness while promoting unity and a sense of community. Now, Valentino has the opportunity to once again foster dialogue and collaboration with these artists, as well as other contemporaries in the exhibition.

Valentino and art have a long-standing partnership. Over the years, initiatives under the Valentino On Canvas brand pillar have showcased the talent of both established and emerging painters and sculptors on the contemporary art scene. In 2022, Valentino sponsored the Italian Pavilion at the 59th Biennale di Venezia, supporting artist Gian Maria Tosatti in the Pavilion’s first solo exhibition and honoring Italy’s cultural heritage. In May 2023, the artist Gioele Amaro presented his iconic creations in the newly designed Valentino Avenue Montaigne boutique, accompanied by a unique work of art that was displayed on a monumental billboard on the Avenue de l’Opéra. In addition, Valentino extended its art collaborations by partnering with contemporary artists for the Frieze exhibitions in Singapore and Seoul, resulting in innovative interpretations of Maison’s iconic codes and thought-provoking works of art.
