Journey of inspiration

The exhibition Cartier, Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design is a joint venture between the Decorative Arts Museum, the Louvre, the French Museums and Cartier, based on the project originally conceived and co-organized by the Dallas Museum of Art and the Decorative Arts Museum, Cartier and Islamic Art: In Search of Modernity.

The exhibition, co-curated by Évelyne Possémé and Judith Hénon-Raynaud, explores the influence of Islamic art on Cartier design from the early 20th century to the present day and features over 500 objects, ranging from jewelry and masterpieces of Islamic art to drawings, books, photographs and archival documents. The exhibition features an innovative design. The works on display are accompanied by dynamic projected images, creating a fully immersive experience. The design offers an exciting journey through the creative process, exploring artistic inspiration, adaptation and synthesis across forms, cultures and time.

The exhibition will run from 16 November 2023 to 24 March 2024. Find out more details on the Louvre Abu Dhabi website.
