Reading thoughts

Researchers from the GrapheneX-UTS Human-centric Artificial Intelligence Centre at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) led the development of the AI hat that can read minds. During testing, 29 participants wore the hat while reading passages, with brain activity recorded and translated using EEG technology. This standalone wearable, BrainGPT, works solely by wearing it, although researchers acknowledge potential noise interference. However, it successfully decodes silent thoughts, particularly verbs. The current model’s ability to interpret nouns is still under development.
