A New British Modernity

A New British Modernity

The exhibition A New British Modernity is now open at Burberry’s newly renovated flagship store in Seoul, running until November 10th, 2024. Celebrating contemporary British art, the exhibition presents works by emerging artists Pam Evelyn, Sarah Cunningham, and Jemima Murphy. Each artist explores themes of nature, abstraction, and spirituality through their unique interpretations of British landscapes, offering a fresh perspective on the evolving UK art scene.

Pam Evelyn’s richly textured abstract canvases reflect her meditation on nature and materiality, creating dynamic and immersive works. Sarah Cunningham’s gestural paintings imagine fluid, dream-like forests, blending abstract and spiritual elements. Meanwhile, Jemima Murphy reimagines landscapes through vibrant colors, evoking emotions of revelation and healing in abstract realms.

The exhibition is part of Burberry’s broader effort to connect art and fashion, with the store’s design echoing Burberry’s British heritage.
