The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced the line-up of artists who will create new installations for the museum in 2024.
In April, a sculptural installation based on his biographical experiences during the Balkan War will be unveiled on the museum’s roof by Kosovo artist Petrit Halilaj. In September, the Fifth Avenue façade will host four sculptures by South Korean artist Lee Bul, known for her creations that combine wearable monsters, cyborgs with classical sculpture and machine-like body parts with utopian architectural installations. Later, from 21 November, Taiwanese artist Tong Yang-Tse will present two large-scale calligraphic works in the Great Hall. In particular, Tong’s summer exhibition featured his 100-piece ink series Silent Music (2003-2010), which was displayed on the expansive multimedia facade of the M+ Museum in Hong Kong.
